Have you ever left the house in a rush? Jumping out the shower and almost simultaneously jumping into the car? Barely having time to run your comb through your damp hair before you exit into the unforgiving elements of nature? Being in a hurry, you are bound to forget something. Your coffee cup sitting on the kitchen counter, you cell phone still on the charger. Maybe you forgot to start the dishwasher or to put gel into your hair.
Forgetting to put the right products on your hair can be a disaster, especially if the air outside is particularly dry that day or particularly humid. How do you get rid of frizzy hair?!?
HairCareGuide.com gives great tips for all kinds of hair types. “Proper hair care will lead to healthier and better looking hair,” they advise. “Bad hair care tactics, or not taking care of your hair can lead to breakage, fly aways, frizzies, split ends, dull hair, and early hair loss.”
Even though I use quality products in the shower daily, like Original Mane ‘n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner, I can see the negative effect on my hair when I forget to follow up with a quality after shower product, like Shine On.
On more than one occasion, I get a glimpse of myself at my destination, only to see my hair is frizzy, little tight curls circling around my forehead. Or my hair is dry and staticky, sticking up straight on my hair like I’ve been in a wind storm.
I yell at my husband, “Why didn’t you tell me my hair looks like this?” Poor guy just shrugs his shoulders, knowing there’s no right answer to a question like that.
Once I’m out of the house, it’s almost too late to do anything about it. Adding water only make its worse. I don’t usually carry a comb around with me, but even if I did, it would only make it puff out more. “Rubbing your hair will make a frizzy hair problem worse,” writes Eleanor Jewell, a freelance writer for LiveStrong.com.
The best thing to do is stop and think ahead. Give yourself an extra couple of minutes to treat your hair properly before you expose it to the harsh outdoor elements.
Bonus tip: Keep a bottle of Mane ‘n Tail’s Shine On near the door. It’s a high gloss leave in spray that helps detangle your hair while also eliminating frustrating frizz. What I love about it is it works on dry or wet hair. I put mine next to my car keys and add a pump or two to my hair right before I walk out the door. Then, when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror later that day, I like what I see.
